through the league championship series

TBAR/PAs (total bases advanced or relinquished per plate appearance)

Following this year’s four five-game division series, the third round of the postseason has continued with the two best-of-seven-game league championship series being played.   One team from each big league is moving on to the fourth and final round: the best-of-seven World Series.   61 players—25 in the American League and 36 in the National League—had at least one plate appearance (or virtual plate appearance, in the case of pinch runners who, in addition to the actual batters, were also attributed with TBAR: total bases advanced or relinquished).

There are 34 among them—18 in the AL and 16 in the NL—who made more than 19 appearances in all three of or in the latter two of these first three rounds, along with an additional two—both of them NL players—whose team did not move on to the league championship but who each had 20 PAs in the division series alone.   We here look at the TBAR/PA (total bases advanced or relinquished per plate appearance) of each of these players with at least 20 PAs in the series or combined in both one of the wild card games and the series.
