special edition   MLB 2020 postseason

through the league championship series

TBAR/PAs (total bases advanced or relinquished per plate appearance)

Following this year’s four five-game division series, the third round of the postseason has continued with the two best-of-seven-game league championship series being played.   One team from each big league is moving on to the fourth and final round: the best-of-seven World Series.   52 players—26 in each league—had at least one plate appearance (or virtual plate appearance, in the case of pinch runners who, in addition to the actual batters, were also attributed with TBAR: total bases advanced or relinquished).

There are 38 among them—19 in each of the leagues—who made more than 19 appearances in these first three rounds, along with an additional 31—17 AL players and 14 NL players—whose teams did not move on to the league championship but who each had 20 or more PAs in the wild card and division series alone.   We here look at the TBAR/PA (total bases advanced or relinquished per plate appearance) of each of these players with at least 20 PAs in the series.
